Gorkha

Introduction

Gorkha is a picturesque hill- town that has a rich history of its own. The place is situated on a small mountain at the height of 3500 feet and offers a magnificent view of the Himalayan Peaks. The town was once the capital of Nepal, and housed the Palace of the great King Prithvi Shah, who united Nepal's scattered kingdoms. Apart from the Palace and temples, Gorkha's natural beauty also makes it a favorite with trekkers.
